GSA - Mechanical Engineer (Energy/Economic Analyses) position closes 4/19/2012
The applicant must have specialized experience in the mechanical engineering profession, identifying advanced solutions to complex energy related problems, and applying state-of-art technology for optimizing building energy and water consumption.  Applicant must demonstrate experience evaluating the impact on energy performance of mechanical system alternatives considered during design, construction, repair and alterations, and maintenance phases of the building life-cycle.  Applicant must have considerable experience in performing complete heating and air-conditioning system load calculations, energy modeling, and mechanical system design with emphasis on energy efficiency based on LEED and ASHRAE 90.1 standards. Applicant must be experienced with building automation systems and diagnosing operational deficiencies leading to high energy-usage, and at developing scopes and costs for viable solutions; must be experienced in project procurement, project management and functional testing.
