September 28, 2009 - GEFA - Energy Related
Stimulus Funding in Georgia - Plans for $280 Million
A discussion/update by PJ Newcomb on stimulus funding
managed by the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA). Georgia
will be receiving over $280 Million in energy-related stimulus funding over the
next three years. The Energy Division of GEFA serves as the State's Energy
Office, through which most of this funding will flow. Come hear the plans for
how the money will be spent on various types of projects and programs, including
how you and your organization could benefit.

October 26th, 2009 - Federal EPACT
Incentives by the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA)
In 2009, the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act has provided billions of
dollars for energy programs across the country. The funds, which have been
allocated to states, have created a variety of funding opportunities for energy
efficiency and renewable energy. SEEA is a regional
NGO focused on the deployment and policies of clean energy. Ben Taube
will discuss the variety of funding mechanisms as well as state and federal
specific programs.

November/December 2009 - No meeting
January 25th, 2010 - ZeroEnergy Hot Water Systems and
Induction Lighting
Paul Williams, from Greenspeed Energy Solutions, will discuss two topics for our
January meeting. The ZeroEnergy technology uses waste heat from the air
conditioning system to heat hot water. This device is located indoors and
does not require a pump.

Paul will also present information on induction lighting. He will discuss
the basics on how it works, best practices, typical applications, and lessons learned.

- Using solar thermal and adsorption chillers
Wes Livingston from Power Partners discussed using
heat from solar thermal panels to generate
chilled water with adsorption chillers. Wes has extensive experience in the HVAC
industry and heat recovery technologies. He currently serves as a design
engineer for Power Partners Inc and previously worked for Carrier Corporation as
an applications engineer.
We discussed a creative use of "free" hot water with the
adsorption chiller to create chilled water with a very low impact on the

April 26th, 2010 - Dehumidification and Cooling
via Liquid Desiccant
Please join us for a presentation on the energy savings using liquid desiccant
for dehumidification and cooling by Mooki Talby of DuCool.
Mooki Talby has been with DuCool for just over a year leading
the business development and marketing activities for the company. He joined
DuCool after being exposed to DuCool’s unique solutions and the significant
energy savings they can generate. Mooki comes to DuCool after serving in a
variety of roles in marketing, product management and business development in
the Digital Printing industry. Prior to DuCool Mooki was part of Creo’s Print
on-Demand division, a division of Eastman Kodak, serving as VP of Marketing.
Mooki holds a B.Sc. in Industrial engineering and an M.B.A. from the University
of Tel Aviv.
