September 29th, 2008 - Georgia Clean
Energy Property Tax Credit
Cyrus Bhedwar from GEFA will discuss
the Property Tax Credit available in Georgia for energy efficient and renewable
energy technologies. The law, signed by Sonny Perdue, went into effect on
July 1st and offers property tax credits for installations of "clean energy".

Cyrus is a State Energy Program Manager for GEFA. His responsibilities
include administering and overseeing the Department of Energy's State Energy
Program - a funding mechanism for energy efficiency programs throughout the
State of Georgia. Prior to joining GEFA, Cyrus was a staff member at Southface
Energy Institute for nearly two and a half years serving as the Liaison to the
City of Atlanta. His responsibilities included serving as the Energy
Conservation Program Manager and the chair for Atlanta's Facility Management
Subcabinet. He received his Master's Degree in Energy and Environmental
Policy from the University of Delaware.

October 27th, 2008 - Window Films
Cindy Rotton from CPFilms Inc. will discuss the benefits of applied window
films. The presentation will discuss the importance of window films in
building energy-efficiency projects, how to identify good opportunities for film
application, how energy savings can be accurately estimated, and provide an
overview of the latest film technologies including low-reflectance films and
spectrally-selective films. Energy-control window films reduce solar heat
gain, improve window insulating properties, and significantly reduce occupant
comfort by reducing hot and cold spots. Window films can also assist with
obtaining up to seven LEED Existing Building credits.
Cindy has 23 years experience educating
professionals about the benefits of applied window films. She is an expert
in assessing problems associated with glazing and in the specifying and
installing of solar and security window films. A brochure can be

February 23rd, 2009 - Compressed Air Leak Detection
Adrian Messer from
UE Systems. For the past six years, Adrian has been the Southeast Regional
Manager for UE Systems, Inc. In addition to his 6 years of in-plant,
“real-world” experience in the field of airborne/structure borne ultrasound,
Adrian is certified Level I Airborne/Structure borne Ultrasound and Level I
Steam Trap Examiner. He has countless hours of plant experience and has been
able to relate these experiences to attendees at various conferences and
meetings around the Southeast. He is actively involved in local chapters of the
Vibration Institute and the Society for Nondestructive Testing. Adrian is a
member of the Carolinas Chapter of the Society for Maintenance and Reliability
Professionals (SMRP). Adrian is a 2001 graduate of Clemson University. He and
his wife April live in Anderson, SC, and enjoy boating on area lakes.

March 30th, 2009 - Cofield Widner, Georgia Power's
Nuclear Interface Manager, will give an update on the nuclear industry,
including the status of Georgia Power adding 2 new nuclear units at Plant Vogtle.
April 27th, 2009 - EPRI - An Overview of End Use Energy
Efficiency
John Halliwell from EPRI will discuss end-use energy efficiency for lighting,
HVAC, industrial applications, motors, and compressed air.
