Presentation Description:

The Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) is a program within Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute and is a member of the National MEP network supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). GaMEP champions small and medium-sized manufacturers, offering them a comprehensive array of proven solutions aimed at igniting growth and elevating performance in the global market.

In response to the pressing call for sustainability, the Energy and Sustainability Services (ESS) group at GaMEP provides expertise in sustainability best practices through assessments, training, and coaching, resulting in improved energy and environmental performance. Join Ms. Saavedra to learn more about GaMEP’s pivotal role in fostering sustainable practices within Georgia manufacturing organizations.

During this presentation, Ms. Saavedra will explore different aspects of sustainability in the manufacturing industry. Topics will include understanding sustainability and its relevant terminology, getting started with sustainability in manufacturing, the business value of sustainability, and an overview of the sustainability roadmap. She will explore the primary hurdles encountered when integrating sustainability into business systems, prevailing trends in the manufacturing sector, and a comprehensive overview of resources and tools that the ESS team brings to the table.
